Fantastic wins an Effie for employer branding with MIVB/STIB

Yes, we won a Bronze Effie for the employer brand we created for MIVB. And yes, it’s the first time in Belgium that an employer brand receives an Effie in the Brand Image category. But here’s what really matters: the employer brand also convinced MIVB’s CFO. More applications. Lower cost per hire. Sounds almost too good to be true. Almost.

Limited employer awareness

MIVB faces a clear challenge: a serious mismatch between Brussels jobseekers and the profiles MIVB needs: technicians, engineers, and IT specialists. On top of that: limited employer awareness and low attractiveness outside Brussels. Say “MIVB” and most people think of one job only: driver.

More than just a job

We translated the corporate baseline ‘Move Brussels’ into the EVP ‘Move Together'. ‘Together’ highlights the exceptionally strong team spirit at MIVB. ‘Move’ shows that no one stands still, professionally or personally. Every employee has their own ambitions and needs, and the space to realise them at MIVB. At the same time, every colleague contributes to the quality of life in Brussels. Working at MIVB isn’t just a job.  You see its impact every single day, all around you.

We developed a simple, creative design system to tell real employee stories in a clear and compact way. Using the recognisable MIVB route line as a visual device, we mapped out career paths. Three core storylines translated into fifteen unique journeys. Authentic, personal and relevant.

Results that convince the CFO

With creativity, storytelling and an integrated media strategy, we elevated MIVB’s employer image to a new level. The numbers speak for themselves: 92% more traffic to the job site, 30% more applications, a significantly lower cost per hire. In 2024, MIVB hired 654 people through external recruitment, an increase of 18%. Strong results. Strong enough to impress the Effie jury. And the CFO.
